Lawn Mowing in Skåne

A dense, even, healthy lawn is the result of regular mowing at the right moment, not of occasional efforts. NordVerk handles lawn mowing for homes, row houses, and property owners across all of southwest Skåne, with a fixed weekday, the same team every time, and clippings always removed. You skip renting equipment, finding time on the calendar, or worrying about how often it really should be cut. We set the rhythm together in a free inspection.

What's included in a lawn mowing visit

Each visit is a complete pass over your lawn, not just mowing:

  • Mowing of the entire lawn with professional walk-behind or ride-on mowers depending on lot size. We adjust cutting height by season (higher during dry mid-summer, lower at season start and finish).
  • Trimming with a brushcutter or string trimmer around trees, fences, beds, posts, and anything the mower can't reach.
  • Edging along beds, paths, and driveways for a sharp, tidy finish.
  • Collection or mulching of clippings. Both work; we recommend based on weather and season.
  • Removal of all collected material. No bag is ever left behind.
  • Visual health check of the lawn. Signs of voles, grub damage, moss, or dry patches are reported on the spot.

The season's rhythm: when we mow what

Skåne's climate gives us a long mowing season compared with northern Sweden. Our guidelines:

  • April: Season start. First mow, usually slightly below normal height to stimulate denser base shoots.
  • May-June: Peak growth. Weekly or biweekly. Grass grows fastest now.
  • July: Drought adjustment. We raise cutting height and stretch the interval if dry periods demand it. Longer blades shade the roots and keep the lawn greener.
  • August-September: Back to normal frequency after summer rains.
  • October: Final mow slightly shorter than season level to prevent snow mold over winter.

We never take more than a third of the blade length in a single mow. This is the single most important rule for a healthy lawn, and one of the most common reasons homeowner mowing produces yellow results.

Different lawns: different setups

Not all lawns are the same. We adjust:

  • Utility lawn. The most common home setup. Cut height 35-45 mm, mowing every other week in peak season.
  • English / ornamental lawn. Shorter cut (20-30 mm), tighter interval (weekly), often with collection every time.
  • Natural / meadow grass. Mowed sparingly, sometimes only 2-3 times per season, possibly combined with late-summer scything.
  • Shaded lawn under large trees. Higher cut height and gentler interval so the weaker roots aren't overloaded.

You don't need to figure out which type you have. We go through it at the inspection.

Season contracts are the easiest path

Most of our customers sign season contracts from April to October. You get:

  • A fixed weekday (e.g., every Tuesday on even weeks)
  • The same team every time, so we get to know your garden
  • Fixed per-visit price, known in advance
  • Priority booking for add-ons (hedge trimming, fall cleanup, snow removal)
  • No lock-in. The contract is renewed or paused before each new season

One-off mowing visits are possible at hourly rate, but season contracts are noticeably cheaper per visit and give you a lawn that actually thrives over time.

50% RUT deduction: how it works

Lawn mowing on your own property is fully RUT-eligible:

  • 50% off labor cost applied directly on the invoice
  • Max 75,000 SEK per person per year (150,000 SEK for a couple in the same household)
  • We handle all reporting to the Swedish Tax Agency, so you do nothing

RUT applies to the labor portion of each invoice, which for lawn mowing represents nearly the entire cost. Materials such as sand or soil are not covered by the RUT deduction.

To use RUT you must own or rent the property and be registered there (or use it as a holiday home). More on our RUT page.

Areas we serve

We mow in all 15 of our service areas in Skåne. Most popular:

Bundle services in a full-year contract

Many of our customers combine lawn mowing with hedge trimming (twice per season), garden maintenance (spring and fall cleanup), and snow removal in winter, all on one contract, one contact, one invoice. This is often noticeably cheaper than solving each service separately and gives you priority for urgent needs.

Frequently asked questions

Short, honest answers to what we get asked every week. If yours is not here, just call, we are happy to help.

  1. 01How often should the lawn be mowed during summer?
During peak season (May-September), we recommend mowing every other week for a typical home garden. In strong growth (June and wet weather), weekly may be needed. For larger lots or English lawns we adjust frequency based on cutting height. We never take more than one third of the blade in a single cut.
  2. 02Is clipping collection included, or do you mulch?
Both are options. We recommend collection for the first mow after a pause and during fall when grass is damp. Mulching, where clippings are finely chopped and fertilize the lawn, works well in dry early summer and reduces waste. We always take whatever we collect with us.
  3. 03Can you mow on rainy days?
We make the call on site. Light rain is usually fine, but in heavy rain or saturated ground we postpone to the next available day. Wet grass leaves an uneven result and the mower can leave tracks. You keep your slot in the schedule and aren't charged for the missed visit.
  4. 04What does lawn mowing cost per visit?
Pricing depends on lot size, terrain, and mowing frequency. The cost is reduced by 50% through the RUT deduction on labor costs, which is applied directly on the invoice. We always provide a fixed quote after a free inspection.
  5. 05How do I sign up for a season contract?
We start with a site visit and measure the lot. You receive a written quote with fixed price per visit, number of visits per season, and total cost after RUT. The contract runs April-October and can be cancelled before each next season, with no lock-in period.
  6. 06Which areas in Skåne do you serve?
We cover all of southwest Skåne, from Falsterbo in the south to Lund in the north. Most active in Lund (Professorsstaden, Östra Torn), Malmö (Limhamn, Bellevue, Djupadal, Bunkeflostrand), Lomma municipality (Lomma, Bjärred), Vellinge municipality (Vellinge, Höllviken, Skanör, Falsterbo), Staffanstorp, Bara, and Svedala.
